EMER REYNOLDS ‘THE FARTHEST’ WINS BIG AT DUBLIN INTERNATIONAL FILM FEST / by Keith Jordan

Emer Reynold’s stunning documentary on NASA’s Voyager mission, THE FARTHEST, took home the Audience Award and the award for Best Irish Documentary at the Audi Dublin International Film Festival this past weekend.

Speaking on the win, Director Reynolds (who was also awarded the DFCC George Byrne Maverick Award) said “On behalf of the whole team, I am delighted and humbled to receive this award. Screening the film to a Dublin audience was the most incredible experience and for them to honour us like this is out of this world!”

The film also received a standing ovation after its world premiere, which had taken place earlier on Sunday.

Written and directed by Reynolds, the two-hour film chronicles the four-decade work of nuclear-powered probes Voyager 1 and Voyager 2, which have travelled over 22 million combined miles since leaving earth to study the outer solar system.

Powerful, poetic and cinematic, THE FARTHEST celebrates these magnificent machines, the men and women who built them and the vision that propelled them farther than anyone could ever have hoped.

Produced by John Murray and Clare Stronge for Crossing the Line Films, our very own Steve Fanagan was the re-recording mixer, sound designer and supervising sound editor for the film.

Congratulations to all involved on the well deserved win.
