The annual IFTA Film & Drama Awards took place on Saturday night, and we’re ecstatic to report that Ardmore Sound's Niall Brady, Ken Galvin & Steve Fanagan picked up the Best Sound Award for their work on Juanita Wilsons Tomato Red.
The Tomato Red sound team beat out Game of Thrones, The Siege of Jadotville and Without Name to take the top spot in their category at this year’s ceremony, which was Hosted by actress and comedienne Deirdre O’Kane.
Speaking of the win on Monday morning, Sound Designer/ Editor Steve Fanagan said that they were “delighted to have won the IFTA for our sound work on Juanita Wilson’s ‘Tomato Red’. It’s such a beautiful film, one that we all feel very proud to have been part of.”
“We had an incredible time working on the film alongside our colleagues at Ardmore Sound and Screen Scene, and feel very lucky to work with them all. Huge thanks to Nathan Nugent, Peter Tighe, Paul Rankin, Jean McGrath, Eoghan McDonnell and Brendan Rehill for all of their hard work and collaboration. Special thanks to James Flynn, Liz Gill, Catherine Tiernan and everyone at Metropolitan Films International for support throughout the process. Most importantly, we’d like to thank Juanita for having us on board and working so closely with us throughout the sound post process. It was a real privilege to get to work with her and her entire cast and crew on such a powerful film.”
Tomato Red underwent full Sound Post Production here at Ardmore Sound and Screen Scene last year.
